The Logic of Dungeons
~ Controls ~
- Click: Place walls
- Right click or X: Place notes
- Z: Undo
- Shift-Z: Redo
- R: Restart
~ Hints ~
- This is a "pen & paper" puzzle game, similar to Akari or Nurikabe. The Thinky Dailies are a good introduction to this type of game.
- Use the arrow buttons at the top to replay previous levels.
List of Rules
- The boss room must be last (all doors must be opened before visiting the boss).
- All treasures must be opened before entering the boss room.
- The player picks up one key, then opens one door. The player must only have one option at a time.
Hint
Start by filling in the spaces which must be walls, and using notes (right click) to mark spaces which must be open. Try to figure out what has to come first/last.Hint
As you get to later levels, you'll need to figure out some logical rules which aren't spelled out by the game. For example:- All keys/doors must be reachable
- The boss can only see one door
- Keys can only see ... (I'll leave it to you to figure out the rest)

Hmm...
Maybe I'm stupid, but this feels like a paradox (obviously it's not, because people have solved it, but it's definitely kicking my ass)
The player *has* to pick up the key right next to them first because there's no way to separate them. Now, that key cannot open the door right above it because that has to be the boss door, but blocking the path to the second lock makes the boss lock completely surrounded by walls....
Can I please get a hint about what am I missing?
Yep, you’re correct so far. If you block some things off, you can get to something like this:
I put walls to the up and left of the boss, because I don’t think there’s any advantage to making the boss room any larger than it needs to be. The other 2 walls are required to be there.
After this point there are probably a couple ways to make progress, but one way is to notice that the right key is not allowed to see the boss door, or the circle next to it. Therefore you can’t approach the first door from the bottom…
This felt really great -- the puzzles and the story!
OK that was really sweet. (And not easy!)
